The conference is a fantastic opportunity that only comes around very two years to share your ideas and learnings with the profession so now the time to get writing!  

The Conference Committee is seeking papers and posters, including but not limited to those that highlight the Global Impact/Local Footprint of the below themes:

  • Indigenous issues
  • Career development
  • Technology
  • Education

Presentations

The Conference Committee welcomes program proposals in a variety of formats including:

  • Individual presentations
  • Panel discussions (multiple, complementary speakers on a single topic)
  • Workshop sessions
  • Digital – posters (with an optional additional hard copy submission)
  • Lightning talks (5/10 minute sessions)

Below are the guidelines for each presentation format.

Individual, panel and workshop abstract submission requirements

  • Abstracts must be sent in word.doc format and must be prepared using the appropriate template (word.doc file).
  • Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words.
  • Please proofread the final document thoroughly before submitting it to the Conference.
  • Abstracts matching the requirements must be sent by email to convenor@alla.asn.au no later than 5.00pm on Friday, 29th September 2017.
  • All presenters must register for the Conference and pay the appropriate registration fee by the early bird cut-off date. If no author is registered by this date, the abstract will be withdrawn from the Conference proceedings.
  • Note: Workshops will be held on Wednesday, 2 May and may be held in a different venue other than the Doubletree by Hilton Esplanade.

 

Poster abstract submission requirements (digital and hard copy poster formats)

  • Poster abstracts must be sent in word.doc format and must be prepared using the appropriate template (word.doc file).
  • Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words.
  • Please note accepted poster presenters will be required to give a 5-10 minute talk (final timing to be notified after abstract acceptances have been sent out) about their poster.
  • Please proofread the final document thoroughly before submitting it to the Conference.
  • Abstracts matching the requirements must be sent by email to convenor@alla.asn.au no later than 5.00pm on Friday, 15 September 2017.
  • All presenters must register for the Conference and pay the appropriate registration fee by the early bird cut-off date. If no author is registered by this date, the abstract will be withdrawn from the Conference proceedings.
  •  If your poster abstract is accepted, poster guidelines will be sent to you in February.

 

Lightning talk submission requirements

  • Abstracts must be sent in word.doc format and must be prepared using the appropriate template (word.doc file).
  • Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words.
  • Talks will be 5-10 minutes long and final timing will be sent to you after abstract acceptances are sent out.
  • Please proofread the final document thoroughly before submitting it to the Conference.
  • Abstracts matching the requirements must be sent by email to convenor@alla.asn.au no later than 5.00pm on Friday, 29 September 2017.
  • All presenters must register for the Conference and pay the appropriate registration fee by the early bird cut-off date. If no author is registered by this date, the abstract will be withdrawn from the Conference proceedings.

Terms and conditions

  • The lodgement of an abstract does not indicate automatic inclusion in the Conference program.
  • Abstract receipt and acceptance will be acknowledged to the submitting author.
  • Further communication will be with the submitting author only unless otherwise directed.
  • Abstracts must adhere to the abstract requirements and be submitted before the call for abstracts close.
  • Each abstract must have at least one author registered by the early bird closing date. If no author is registered by this date, the abstract will be withdrawn from the Conference proceedings.
  • Authors agree to submit a full paper by the due date for inclusion in the Conference edition of the journal. If no paper is submitted, the organising committee reserve the right to withdraw the abstract from the Conference proceedings.
